Constructed in 1972 the road bridge of the "Katzwanger Strasse" allows a wide view across the marshalling yard of Nuremberg. The bridge traverses 27 tracks.

The north-western part of the trackage just below the road bridge is destined for the trains` exit.

At the western flank just besides the "Katzwanger Strasse" the gaudy red clinker blocks catch the eye even from a distance.

Retrofitted with balconies these mighty brick houses are available to the public as housing for some time.

In the midst of the red clinker houses there is a central place with an endearing well and the obligatory factory clock, which meanwhile is out of work.

The streets of the front section next to the trackage all got the unusual name "Rangierbahnhof-Ausfahrtbahnhof".

Through this narrow tunnel you are directed to the really remarkable premises which were cultivated between 1898 and 1903.

At the back side of this enormous semicircular locomotive shed a lane takes course to the former management.

At the gate of the old idyllic repair and assembling shop a railcar of a newer type enjoys a bit fresh air and some sunbeams.

In front of the former largest trackage of Germany the two picture-filling loco sheds are waiting for new tasks.
